Hands off HRI are campaigning to save Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, its A&E and Acute Services.
We urgently need to raise £15,000 for our Judicial Review.
PLEASE DONATE GENEROUSLY NOW!
ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
Hands off HRI was set up in 2016 to campaign against the closure or downgrading of hospitals or health services within the Huddersfield and Calderdale area, particularly against the planned closure of Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, its A&E department and acute services.
The Campaign intends to mount a legal challenge against Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust’s current plans for the removal of A&E and Acute Services from Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. You can read more here.
Please sign our current petition. We want the Independent Reconfiguration Panel to veto the CCG plan for our hospital and advise the Secretary of State to release the funding to keep fully operational local NHS services in Huddersfield and Halifax.
Hands Off HRI are fundraising to pay for a Judicial Review, which we hope will stop the proposal to demolish Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. The public have shown fantastic support far – please contribute what you can, every £1 helps!
Are you a current HRI user?
If you currently use HRI and the proposals would impact on you and your treatment,
we’d like to hear from you as it could strengthen our legal case.
What local people say
This is what the public think about the proposed plans for our hospital services.
"This is an unsafe proposal. Quite simply, people will die."
"A town the size of Huddersfield, that's continuing to grow with new houses and schools being built CANNOT be left with a substandard hospital facility and no A&E care"
"The town needs a viable health service and I don't accept that these plans deliver that. Why are we being asked to saddle the next generation with another PFI contract?"
"It puts lives at risk, profit before people and is part of the systematic dismantling of our NHS! Get your hands off!"
