On the 8th September, following months of preparation, families and music lovers arrived at Golcar British Legion in their masses,   entertained in the Concert Room,  by a fantastic lineup of local bands namely; Detour, PsychoSlinkys,, Vital Signs, Natural Rhythm, Eleven 18, Bravado Cartel, Six Months In Mexico, Tribal Shoots.  Meanwhile in the main bar area the fabulous Bonkers Entertainment Crewe entertained families of younger children with their family disco and unique entertainment style.

We raised a fantastic amount of £1890 on the day and a generous donation by an anonymous donour took the total raised to a massive £2000.  On banking the amount we were dismayed to discover that we had been given three forged £20 notes but once again a generous benefactor, Michelle Hodgson, stepped in to replace the amount lost.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Bandaid couldn’t have happened without the support of so many people – both in the campaign and supporters of.

We would like to say a massive thank you to the royal British legion in golcar. This club has supported this campaign from the off. They have allowed the various groups to meet there for no more than the drinks we have bought. Tonight we went some way to repay that debt.

Thank you also to

All campaigners who have organised today’s event and given their time freely.

Thank you to the bands who have supported this campaign and given their time freely. And to Peter Steele and his crew who have supported the campaign at many of our large events.

Thank you to bonkers who did an amazing job entertaining the young and young at heart.

Thank you to Phyllis and Lisa who prepared a wonderful sop supper.

Thank you to Julie the face painter who gave her time for free.

Thank you to the local businesses who have donated raffle prizes and food.

But most of all thank you to the public who continue to support this campaign.

We are the community of Huddersfield and together we are fighting to save our hospital.
