What a weekend for the campaign! Manning stalls over both Saturday and Sunday, our tremendous team of Upper Colne Valley campaigners raised a whopping £763 in total for the legal fund at the annual Marsden Jazz Festival!
On Saturday the volunteers struggled on undeterred by dreadful weather conditions, but on Sunday the sunshine smiled down and the stall did a roaring trade. The Upper Colne Valley team run two amazing tombolas for adults and children, and sell a new and very popular range of homemade ‘Mrs Bevan’s Pickles and Preserves’. You can pick up campaign merchandise, our woolly mascot, Bevan the sheep, and sometimes delicious cakes on their stalls. A huge thank you goes out to Lorna and Steve Goldman and Matt and Julie Roebuck for paying the stall fees over the two days. Also a special mention for Jenny & Sam Goldman who gave a donation of £50 by emptying their money boxes! And as ever a massive thank you to people who gave up their weekend for the campaign:
Ian & Ann Staples, Kate Lowe, Julie Roebuck, Lorna & Steve Goldman, Angela Evans (aka Mrs Bevan and maker of the chutneys!), Phil Evans, Pat Jones, Malcolm Povey, Yvette Wilson, Christine Martindale.
You are stars!
Thanks also to everyone who donated tombola gifts and sweeties, and to the public who supported the stall so tremendously over the two days. We are always happy to receive donations to help us replenish our tombolas.
