On Friday night, members of the public and Hands Off HRI campaign members attended Halloween Hellraiser, a fundraising gig organised by the youth group of the campaign, Youth For HRI. With the opportunity for spooky costumes, people didn’t disappoint, with wicked witches, dark angels, and even a blood spattered surgeon in attendance!
They were entertained with live acts Rustic John and Barry & Woody, some poetry from the campaign’s own Angry Nana, Christine Renshaw, and some poetry from a fairly new member of the campaign, Jordan Ward alongside some spooky tunes from DJ Mark Taylor of Yorkshire Miobile Disco, all of whom gave up their time and entertaining skills for free.
With good attendance from a number of Huddersfield University students, many of them left their details wanting to get involved with the campaign, Youth For HRI are confident that they will go from strength to strength with more events in the future.
On the night, the group raised over £60 to help fund the lagal challenge that is being made against the CCG and Trust against the closure of HRI and a replacement Urgent Care Centre.
