The youth group of Hands Off HRI are proud to host this fundraising gig in aid of the legal challenge against the closure of HRI
Hands Off HRI is inviting all supporters of our campaign to join us as we look to celebrate the macabre time of year with a fundraising gig this coming Friday at the Irish Centre on Fitzwilliam Street.
With musical acts, poetry and a rapper, it promises to be a gruesomely entertaining night, and with a Halloween fancy dress competition, you can dust down that witches hat, clean those vampire teeth and practice your best zombie moan to be in with a chance to win a prize! Categories are the scariest, funniest and most original, so get creative!
Since February last year, our hugely successful community campaign has gone from strength to strength. We have mobilised thousands across the area in defence of NHS Services. What began as a fight to save our A & E is now a struggle to save the entire hospital. We are incensed at the CCG’s duplicity in amending their plans to bulldoze our hospital, but we are now equally determined to stop them in their tracks.
In August, we held a very successful public meeting to launch our Judicial Review. We have had clear and helpful advice from our legal team that our chances of success are 65%. On that basis we have now lodged the legal papers and we are taking the Health Trust to court.
We are now asking for your help to win our case. We have raised over £50,000 to get this far but will of course need to raise more now the case is being lodged. We have set ourselves a target of £40,000.
The NHS Trust has employed a large firm of solicitors to take us on. When they want to close hospitals, it seems they have magic money trees coming out their ears!! We will continue to rely on the pennies and pounds of your support. Can you help us?? You can donate to the bank account below but we are also looking for volunteers to attend meetings, undertake fund raising events or deliver leaflets, along with many other jobs. Below are our bank details where you can make a donation or contact us on any of the media below; we are also looking for your stories on the implications of closure on your health to be used as evidence in court. This is our NHS and we can all make a difference.
