Today is a massive day for Huddersfield.

After two years of campaigning and fundraising, Hands Off hri won their verbal appeal to have a full judicial review against the full business case to demolish Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and leave this amazing town with nothing more than a cottage hospital.

Hands Off HRI Chair – Mike Forster had this to say “We would like to thank the people of Huddersfield who have made this legal breakthrough possible through your long standing support. We have now been granted a full judicial review, most likely in June. Our legal team were brilliant and held the trust to account. The two representatives from the Trust were crestfallen. The grounds of our review will be

A flawed consultation

Breach of public law

Inadequate travel and transport provision

Lack of community care provision

Potential breach of Equality Law

To those who told us this was a done deal, you were wrong. If you stand and fight, you can win. This is a huge hurdle we’ve passed but the fight goes on

Well done to the community of Huddersfield and those campaigners who have worked tirelessly for the last two years!
We’ve won the battle but not the war. We need your support and feet on demos.

Let battle commence!
