Clinical Commissioning Group
We are dealing with Calderdale CCG and Greater Huddersfield CCG. Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) were created following the Health and Social Care Act in 2012, and replaced Primary Care Trusts on 1 April 2013. They are clinically-led statutory NHS bodies responsible for the planning and commissioning of health care services for their local area.
Calderdale & Huddersfield Foundation Trust
Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust runs Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, Huddersfield and Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax, both in West Yorkshire, England. It became a Foundation Trust in 2006.
Joint Health Scrutiny Committee
A body made up of cross party councilors from both Kirklees and Calderdale, who scrutinized the plans put forward. They reached a decision on21/7 to refer the plans to the IRP. See the meeting here:
Independent Reconfiguration Panel
The Independent Reconfiguration Panel (IRP) is the independent expert on National Health Service (NHS) service change in England. Set up in 2003, the IRP advises the Secretary of State for Health on contested proposals for health service change in England.
They could carry out a desktop review or an in depth review. We are lobbying for an in depth review.
